Nestled in the vibrant heart of Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill neighborhood, Hamlet Coffee Company is much more than your typical coffee shop—it’s a cherished haven for coffee aficionados, remote workers, and anyone seeking a warm, inviting atmosphere paired with expertly crafted drinks and comforting bites.
Upon stepping into Hamlet Coffee Company at 465 Rogers Ave #1, you’re greeted by a bright and thoughtfully arranged space that balances cozy intimacy with functional work areas. From the three-seat window counter, which is perfect for people watching or savoring a quiet moment, to the inviting couch and tables tucked into the back, every seating option encourages you to linger, whether you’re diving into a novel, catching up on work, or meeting friends. The addition of a lovely backyard further enhances the welcoming vibe, offering a breath of fresh air and a relaxed environment that’s often hard to find in bustling Brooklyn.
What truly sets Hamlet Coffee Company apart is the dedication they pour into each cup. Their menu showcases an enticing variety of coffee styles, from the rich and velvety Cortado—a standout according to many patrons—to the creamy Chair Latte and the refreshingly smooth Iced Vanilla Oat Latte. For those with a taste for something more adventurous, the Turmeric Latte and Matcha offer unique, healthful twists that awaken the palate. The house Cold Brew and expertly pulled Macchiatos demonstrate the baristas’ deep respect for coffee craftsmanship, with flavors balanced to perfection. Adding an extra shot or alternative milk is simple, allowing personalization for every coffee lover.
The food selection complements the beverages beautifully. The bakery items like the moist Banana Bread, the delightful Sweet Potato Loaf, and the indulgent Pecan Cookie provide just the right hint of sweetness and texture, making each visit a treat. The Sweet Potato Cake and Chai pairing is a particular favorite, merging warm spices with soft cake to create a cozy, satisfying bite alongside their flavorful chai.
Customer feedback reveals the authentic charm and occasional hiccups of Hamlet Coffee Company, painting a rich picture of the experience. Andrew Chalmers praises their speedy service and friendly staff, mentioning how accommodating they were with providing extra cups to enjoy drinks with his kids—small gestures like these that amplify the sense of community. Meanwhile, Laura Weiss highlights Hamlet as her go-to spot to work from, admiring the clean, bright space and the friendly atmosphere, not to mention the unique cards they sell—a delightful bonus for shoppers and card lovers.
Of course, no establishment is without room to grow. Benjamin Freeberg’s critique of the food quality on one occasion and Alina Quintero’s notes on service dynamics shed light on the challenges of maintaining consistency on busy days. Yet, this transparency and willingness to listen to customer voices are part of what makes Hamlet Coffee Company feel genuine and relatable.
In summary, Hamlet Coffee Company is a Brooklyn gem offering more than just excellent coffee—it’s a space that nurtures connections, creativity, and community spirit. Whether you’re craving a robust cortado, a comforting turmeric latte, or a quiet nook to focus, Hamlet welcomes you with open arms and quality in every cup.
The coffee and drinks are always good. I got the tacos once but there were old and sticking to the wrapper. I wouldn't have sold them to anyone. But probably a cool place to hang and get some work done if you're there in time
Best Coffee and ambiance in town. Today I went back for more coffee and bread. The lovely lady at the counter gave great service. Acknowledge me when I thanked her and also said have a good day when I left. In the other hand the 2 making the coffee were too busy talking among themselves. When the guy gives me the coffee, I said thank you and at no time did he even acknowledge me , the customer. We go back every time we are in town and just keeps getting better. October 2024 back again. Still in love with this place.
What an amazing specialty coffee shop here in Brooklyn. The cortado was delicious and I also got a hot chocolate for the kids. The staff were so friendly and kind. The service was extremely fast. They also were generous and gave me some extra cups to give out the hot chocolate to my kids in different cups. There is some space to sit and work or meet but the place was already pretty packed back late morning. I’d highly recommend coming here if you like good espresso and specialty coffee
My go- to coffee shop to do work! Clean, bright, lovely back yard, friendly staff and they also sell great cards! What more could you ask for? My only gripe is it would be nice for there to be more consistent food options. It can get crowded too.
hamlet coffee company Layout/atmosphere *Three seat window counter; couch; tables in back Food/drink *Dirty Chai Latte - Good *Marble Cake - solid
I went to this coffee shop several times when I was in Brooklyn. The staff is nice, there's ample seating inside, plus there's an outdoor courtyard plus a restroom! Their coffee drinks were excellent and they had good pastries too. It's a great place to hang out and enjoy breakfast or lunch.
Best latte ever! Excellent customer service (friendly and prompt), very clean, quiet (not a lot of customers loudly talking on their phones, not staff randomly chatting among themselves), very nice music for laid back atmosphere (yet not intrusive), good wifi. Tried their bacon, potato, egg, & cheese taco for the first time - delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
So happy to have such a nice cafe in the neighborhood. One of my to do’s when first moving here was to find a good coffee spot and Hamlet is now my go-to. There’s a good amount of seating though I’d still recommend going early to find a spot. It’s great for doing a bit of work. Coffee selection is minimal and solid. Also tried a baked good for the first time and loved it!
